Carl-Axel Acking for NK (Nordiska Kompaniet), 'Trienna' chairs, in stained oak and leather, Sweden, 1957.These robust chairs are designed by the Swedish architect Carl-Axel Acking and produced by Nordiska Kompaniet. The name of the chair is derived from the fact that it was displayed at the Triennal exhibition in Milan in the same year as it was designed. The frame of this chair is simplistic and solid. It is therefore the form of the leather shell and the way that it is connected. All the threats are visible and the connective methods are in fact used as aesthetic elements. The chair is robust and sturdy and bears some aesthetic references to the chairs by Borge Mogensen. The leather is in great patinated condition.
